Since 2006, the Mahtomedi Garden Club has offered grants for garden-related projects in public areas of
Mahtomedi, Willernie and adjacent communities.
These funds are available because of generous member and community support of our annual
Plant Sale, Garden Tour and February Outreach Events.
$250 to buy perennials for boulevard plantings at the completion of the new highway 12 reconstruction in Mahtomedi/Willernie. The troop will undertake this community project to complete a “Silver Award” in the area of sustainability.
DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, THIS PROJECT CANNOT BE COMPLETED IN 2019, BUT WILL RESUME IN 2020
$1000 for a landscape project at the site of the historic Cass Gilbert designed White Bear Town Hall which has recently been moved to Polar Lakes Park. MGC funding would supplement fundraising by WBLAHS and enable the project to go ahead this summer.
$500 to continue their site improvement focusing on the area around the labyrinth. Plantings will include drought tolerant native plants diagrammed in the application.
